See the Shared Location on a Map
The shared point appears on a map
When the person accepts, their location appears on a map. You get the coordinates, a street-level view, and the time the location was shared.
- A street-level map view of the shared point
- Coordinates and a timestamp with each result
- See the accuracy range, not just a dot
- One shared point per accepted request
Questions about live map
How accurate is the location?
It depends on the device. With GPS on, results are usually within tens of meters. Without GPS, the location falls back to a network estimate and can be several kilometers off. We show the accuracy range instead of hiding it.
Can I see them moving in real time?
No. PingLocate shares one point at the moment they tap, not an ongoing trail. For continuous tracking you need a monitoring app installed with their permission, which is a different product.
How long is the location kept?
Location results and request data are kept only as long as needed to provide the service, then deleted on a rolling basis. See our Privacy Policy for details.
